> Locrow is a private, local-first collector vault app for iOS and Android. Your entire collection — items, photos, valuations, and exports — stays on your device. ## Core principles

- **Local-first**: All collection data (items, photos, valuations, tags, provenance, conditions) is stored in a local SQLite database (expo-sqlite) on your device. Locrow does not operate a backend database for your vault contents.
- **No account required**: Users do not sign up or log in to use Locrow.
- **Offline capable**: Browse, edit, and manage collections with zero connectivity. AI scanning and Wikipedia lookups are the only network features.
- **Biometric vault lock**: The vault locks automatically after 60 seconds in the background. Unlocked via your device biometrics or passcode.

## AI identification (Global Scan)

- When a user triggers a scan, a consent prompt is shown **before** any network call.
- Up to two compressed images the user selects are transmitted (one required, a second optional).
- Requests are routed through a Locrow-operated proxy to **OpenRouter** (openrouter.ai) under a **Zero Data Retention (ZDR)** configuration — the provider is contractually prohibited from logging, storing, or training on the image.
- After identification, if the "Auto-fetch historical context" toggle is enabled in Settings, the item name string (only) is sent to **Wikipedia's public API** to fetch a historical summary. No photos or personal data are sent to Wikipedia. Results are cached locally for offline reading.
- Locrow does not log or store any user images.

## Data & privacy

- Collection data never touches a Locrow vault database.
- Optional networked features may use limited anonymous technical metadata such as a server-issued install ID, entitlement state, quota counters, short-lived session tokens, and restore / abuse-prevention records. This metadata does not include vault contents, item photos, provenance notes, or exports.
- Android beta signup may collect a tester email address solely for Google Play closed beta administration and essential beta communications; signup emails are deleted immediately when the closed beta ends or earlier on request. New Android testers may be added in daily batches, and users may need to check the Google Play link manually because Google Play may not notify them when access becomes available.
- Insurance Archive exports (ZIP with PDF, photos, JSON, CSV) are assembled on-device and shared via your device's native share sheet or file/export options.

## Features

- AI Identify: point-and-scan identification with value estimate and field prefill (15 scans included in beta; quota enforced through the anonymous install/session model)
- Insights: net worth, value by collection, condition mix, acquisition timeline, origin map, concentration risk, CAGR, holding periods, spend velocity, and more — all computed on-device
- Insurance Archive: one-tap ZIP export (PDF + photos + JSON + CSV) assembled on-device; authentication required
- Verify export: https://locrow.com/verify — browser-only SHA-256 check of locrow_inventory.json inside an exported ZIP (optional ?h= hash from PDF); no upload to Locrow
- Import: restore from a Locrow ZIP archive, or import items from a CSV/spreadsheet
- iCloud Sync: optional on Apple devices; syncs vault across devices via iCloud; collection data never touches a Locrow vault database
- Specialist fields: TPG grading, provenance chain, storage location, geographic origin, category-specific metadata
- Wikipedia context: historical summary and image per scanned item (opt-in toggle in Settings; cached locally for offline reading)
